Bonus Standings 2021
Final
After Week 8, Hounds led Juice in the QB Bonus by 38 points. But then, in Week 9, Mike White’s 7-point game happened for Haydn and from there Juice made his charge. By Week 11 he was a point back, then in Week 12 took an 8-point lead. Haydn picked up two points in Week 13, then five more in Week 14, but fell just shy.
Nothing quite as dramatic for the WR Bonus, where Hound never relinquished the lead he took over Dollz in Week 12.
And as for the RB Bonus? Please. That one was over in Week 5, when Jonathan Taylor, Nick Chubb and D’Andre Swift went for 80 for the S*Heads in his 133-122 win over Heavy Flight . Pretty amazing, but it wasn’t even Kurt’s highest RB-fuelled score of the year: that would be the 134 he scored when Taylor and Chubb went for 74 against OverThinker. Thinker’s score that day? Let’s just say that S*Heads could’ve played just Taylor and Chubb that day and won.
Through Week 13
This is how this stuff is supposed to work, right? Last week I pointed out how our scoring is down since Week 7 and hey, presto! Week 13 is a rebound: The most combined points scored since Week 7 (!) and the most 100+ game scores since Week 6. We combined to score 1427 points and 10 teams hit the century mark. And the games were competitive, too: Largest margin of win was just 26 points (the lowest all year), and the average margin was just 15 points, the second-lowest of the year and the tightest since Week 7. Parity!
So with all those points scored, did we see any leaps up the Bonus Rankings? Or did the leaders just pad their stats? Let’s go to the tape.
Hound picked up 2 points on Juice in the QB Bonus, but every other close pursuer saw the gap widen.
Dollz picked up 11 points on Hound in the WR Bonus, and Heavy Flight picked up 9, but it probably won’t be enough to catch Haydn — especially after he gets 39 or so from Davante Adams vs the Bears on SNF.
And in the RB Bonus, well, S*Heads threw another 25 on the fire to push his points over the 600+ level and extend his lead. Nothing new to see here, folks. Please move along.
It took him ’till the penultimate regular season week of the year, but Juice finally outscored everyone. Now it’s a party. Is it odd that Juice hadn’t popped up in the weekly Top Score Bonus earlier, since he’s outscored everyone this year (by 44), and has the most 100+ games (10)? I think it’s odd.
Maybe even really odd. The top 20 game scores posted this season range from 157 by Haydn to 120 by Tom and Doug, twice. Forty-three separate games have fallen into that range (or scaled those heights, if you prefer). Juice and Andy have accounted for 12 of those 43, with six each. Chris and Kurt have four each; with three each are Doug, Greg, Haydn, Jose, Thurm and Tom. In the list twice are Jeff and Jim, and Bill’s there once. Max has fallen just short of cracking the top 20 so far, as his high game is 119.
Of the Top 20 game scores, here is how we rank. Haydn shows a 1 because he has the top, or first score. Jim’s “2” means he has the second highest, and so forth. There’s got to be a more elegant way to express it, I just can’t come up with it. But I’m sure you get the idea. Also, some numbers repeat because several teams tallied it over the course of these 13 weeks.

Through Week 12
It’s not that S*Heads have lapped the field or anything. Indeed, The U has closed the gap between he and Kurt in the RB Bonus, from 128 two weeks ago to, um, 126 now. But sometimes it seems like Kurt is just rubbing it in. Case in point: in Week 11, his Jonathan Taylor and Nick Chubb combined for 74 points in a 134-74 beatdown of OverThinker. That’s right: his two RBs alone equaled the output of the entire Thinker lineup.
Kurt wasn’t the only guy to overpower the opposition on the ground the past two weeks. Campton nearly hit the century mark with his RBs in Week 12, getting 97 from Fournette, Patterson and Elijah Mitchell in his win over Heavy Flight. Those 97 points outscored EIGHT other teams’ score that week, although Jim wasn’t one of them in the 133-107 loss.
Week 12’s low scores aren’t an anomaly: Our scoring is down since Week 7, when eight teams scored 100+. Since then, the number of teams with a 100+ day have been four in Week 8, five (Week 9), five (Week 10) and five (Week 11).
Worse, the low scores have been bottoming out, too. Through Week 8, there were never more than three teams a week who couldn’t muster more than 80 points. Since then, we’ve seen five (in Week 9), six (week 10), four (Week 11) and five (Week 12).
Only four teams have scored 80+ each week during this current lull: Juice, Katy’s Brother, Heavy Flight and Hurt Locker. The rest of us have contributed at least one weekly score sub-80. And, ahem, some of us have contributed more than once. More than twice, even. You know who I am you are, no need to name names.
Through Week 10
Four weeks now we’ve been looking at the same teams atop the Bonus Rankings, although things got tighter in the QB Bonus, where Hound’s lead is now just two points and it’s Campton and a resurrected Patrick Mahomes hot on Haydn’s trail. (Last week’s runner-up, Hurt Locker, now is third.)
In the WR Bonus, Hounds are still looking up at Dollz and are now 14 back (from 13). And in the RB Bonus, it’s the once-and-future S*Heads, as usual.
Through Week 9
When Hounds’ Mike White went out of the game after the first drive last Thursday, it didn’t bode well for Haydn’s Week 9 outing. (It didn’t help his cause, either, when his Chase Edmonds also went out on his first drive on Sunday.) Then Lamar Jackson happened for Hurt Locker, and Justin Herbert for Juice, and Haydn’s lead in the QB Bonus rankings suffered, too.
Not so much the same situation in the other Bonuses, where Dollz kept its double-digit lead in the WR Bonus and S*Heads just piled on and on and on, over in the RB Bonus.
And what does all that piling on get you? Not a flag (must not be the MNF crew). Rather, it earns S*Heads the Weekly Top Score Bonus and — oh, cruel twist — knocks Fartz from the Blowout Bonus lead and puts Kurt in charge there, too.
Through Week 8
Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose, Gangers. Why yes, I did take high school French, why do you ask?
It’s the same terrific trio atop the Bonus Rankings, although S*Head’s lead in the RB standings shrunk from 92 to 80. Worried yet, Kurt? Alabama Men used 24 from Matt Stafford to leap from 6th place into 2nd place in the QB race, and Hound stayed 16 back of Pops in the WR standings.
No change here, either. Dollz continue its rampage, moving to a league-best 7-1 and once again scoring the most points this week.
Through Week 7
Fresh fish! A new Ganger has entered the building. Fartz got 33 from Alvin Kamara on MNF to run up the score on Buckguys and set a new Blowout Bonus mark of +57. In Doug’s defense, his Josh Allen was on bye. To Doug’s regret, he started Justin Fields instead.
In other news/not-news: Dollz got 83 points from Evans, Kupp & Woods to leap ahead of Hounds and Campton in the WR Bonus, and S*Heads padded their RB Bonus lead. Kurt tops the RB Bonus and is now last in both QB Bonus and WR Bonus standings. That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.
Through Week 6
One Bonus to pay out already: Hounds, Katy’s Brother and OverThinkers split the Best Start Bonus with identical 3-0 starts. Don’t spend it all in one place, fellas.
